Welcome to Westside Covenant Church!
We are very excited that you are considering visiting our church! Whether you are coming to participate in worship with us, are still seeking Jesus, are exploring a new church, or simply want to see what our services are like, you are welcome to come and visit us. In anticipation of your first visit, we have provided some information down below to help you know what to expect, and to help you feel welcome before you walk in through our doors.
We hope to see you soon!
Q: What time should I arrive at the church on Sunday morning? Is it ok to still come in if the service has already started when I arrive?
Our Sunday morning worship services begin at 10:00 AM. You may arrive at our church for the Sunday morning worship service anytime between 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM. Yes, it is ok to still enter the sanctuary if you arrive after the service has started.
Q: What pattern of events can I expect when I come for the worship service on Sunday morning?
When you arrive for the worship service...
A greeter will be there at the welcome station to hand you a program.
Before entering the sanctuary, you will see other people gathering in the narthex (the room outside the sanctuary) to chat for a while before the service starts. This is a good time for you to introduce yourself and get to know some of the members of our church!
As the pianist/organist begins to play the opening music, you are welcome to come into the sanctuary and sit where you would like.
Our worship services usually last from 45 min. - 1 hr. If you wish to participate in the worship service, instructions for sitting, standing, singing and praying will all be given by the worship leader during the service.
After the worship service, you are invited to join us in the Fellowship Hall for coffee hour and conversation!
Q: Does Westside Covenant Church have childcare available during the service?
Yes! We have nursery care provided for children ages 0 - 3 years old.
Q: What sorts of activities are available for children over 3 years old?
For children over 3 years old, we have activity bags (for children in lower elementary school) and puzzle pages (for children in upper elementary school) for them to use during the service. We also have a playroom available for children 4 - 5 years old. Parent supervision is required for children using the playroom.
Q: Is Westside Covenant Church able to accommodate people with disabilities and/or special needs?
At Westside Covenant Church, we do our best to make sure people of various needs and abilities feel welcome in our church. Our building and sanctuary are both able to be accessed with a wheelchair, and we also have an ADA restroom available. If you have specific concerns regarding a particular need, please feel free to email us about them using the form below.
Q: I'm not sure if I believe in Jesus as Lord and Savior, and/or I just want to come and observe what a worship service is like at Westside Covenant Church. Is it ok for me to simply sit and observe the worship service instead of participating in it?
Yes, you are welcome to simply come and observe a worship service at our church.
Q: I believe in Jesus as Lord and Savior, but I am not a member of the ECC denomination nor Westside Covenant Church. Is it ok for me to participate in Communion if it is served on the Sunday I attend your church?
